Two Day Great Ocean Road – Private Multi-Day

On the Great Ocean Road, more is more. Find extra time for a region you will never want to leave. Take in two perfect days of rainforests, wildlife and coastal paradise. Enjoy excellent local produce and time out to enjoy the scents and sounds of the Australian bush. Wild koalas, kangaroos and a host of other local natives are always a prominent feature on this adventure, and the relaxed country charm will help you reset the clock and escape the chaos of everyday life.

Day One

Be met at your hotel by your expert Localing host for a 9 am start. The drive out from Melbourne is a great chance to share some of your tastes and interests so these can be made a feature of your uniquely tailored experience.

Enjoy premium Australian treats including local chocolate, natural spring water and premium skin care products.

Choose to begin your adventure by stopping at a local Aboriginal centre for a chance to interact with native Australian animals and to check out indigenous art from around the country. If arranged prior, there’s also the opportunity to hear the didgeridoo or learn how to throw a boomerang. Alternatively, visit a gorgeous seaside cafe for a local morning tea to the sound of crashing waves.

Admire some world-class surfing at Australia’s surfing heartland, Torquay, the home of the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach.

Be consumed by the scents and sounds of the wild in native eucalyptus forests. Learn about the 700 different kinds of gum tree which thrive in Australia, the difference between kangaroos and wallabies, about carnivorous snails and early explorers. Like all road trips, this is a wonderful chance to share stories.

Choose from one of the many excellent local options in Apollo Bay for lunch (not included).

Spot koalas high in the treetops and search out a mob of local kangaroos.

Check in to your charming local accommodation in time for a tasty afternoon tea and a guided nature and wildlife walk.

Take a few hours in the afternoon to relax and enjoy this tranquil paradise. Your guide will be around to help with dinner arrangements if these are not included as part of your accommodation.

Day Two

Start your day with an early walk along the beach or negotiate a sleep in with your host. Savour a delicious breakfast before getting into the day’s activities, with more than a few memorable options to choose from.

Visit Australia’s most significant lighthouse in Cape Otway, or head up to the California Redwood Forest. At this time of day, we often get it all to ourselves and the experience is truly breathtaking. Can’t choose? Do them both!

The extra time out here means a visit to a local brewery, distillery or native garden are all possible; there’s local cheese and chocolate to try or you might even choose to walk among the treetops at the Otway Fly.

Enjoy a lovely picnic lunch or gourmet Aussie BBQ in a native bushland setting (not included).

Walk the boardwalks at the Twelve Apostles while your guide regales you with the stories that lent the Shipwreck Coast its perilous title.

Enjoy a few other lesser known bays and gorges along the coastline. Break up the journey home with a stop for afternoon tea and some uniquely Australian treats.

Your Localing host will have you back in Melbourne by 7 pm. (start and finish times can be varied to suit your needs).
