Enjoy waterfalls and rainforest walks. Miss none of the local secrets all the way along, on this highly personalised, escorted journey.

Suggested but highly flexible itinerary:

DAY ONE
Be met at your hotel by your expert Localing host for a 9 am start. The drive from Melbourne is a great chance to share your interests so these can be a feature of your tailored experience.

Choose to begin your adventure by stopping at a local Aboriginal centre for a chance to interact with native Australian animals and to check out indigenous art from around the country. If arranged prior, there’s also the opportunity to hear the didgeridoo or learn how to throw a boomerang.

Be consumed by the scents and sounds of the wild in native eucalyptus forests, full of ancient ferns and towering waterfalls. Like all road trips, this is a wonderful chance to share stories. Enjoy a delicious local lunch in Apollo Bay.

Search out a mob of local kangaroos before walking the spectacular boardwalks at the Twelve Apostles.

Enjoy a few lesser-known bays and gorges along the coastline before checking in to your charming accommodation in the Southern Grampians. The on-site dining (casual or gourmet) is exceptional and an excellent option for dinner.

DAY TWO
Start your day with fresh coffee and breakfast, much of it sourced from the local kitchen-garden. Take the short, scenic drive north, deeper into the Grampians National Park.

Expect to see plenty of kangaroos, emus and the odd koala on scenic drives and bushwalking trails. The park’s waterfalls and sweeping views are truly world-class and a stop to see 10,000-year-old Aboriginal rock art is an awe-inspiring must. Enjoy a café or picnic lunch along the way in a native bush setting.

Cross the border into South Australia and down to the regional centre of Mt. Gambier to check-in to your accommodation. The on-site steak-house is one of the city’s best restaurants and a great option for dinner.

DAY THREE
After a delicious local breakfast at the hotel. Take some time to explore one or two of Mt. Gambier’s attractions including the stunning Blue Lake and curious Umpherston Sinkhole.

Continue the journey towards Adelaide via the amazing Naracoorte cave system where you can choose to take a tour. Lunch today is in the gorgeous Coonawarra wine region, bookended by cellar door tastings and a leisurely stroll among the vines.

From here, it’s a straight shot back to Adelaide with plenty of interesting country towns and expansive views to take in along the way.

Arrive in Adelaide by 6 pm and be sure to ask your host about touring and dining options while in the region.
