ARRIVAL DAY

Kick the weekend off with a bang with a hosted evening out on Friday night. Our nightlife experiences are designed to show off the hidden gems and local favourites – neighbourhood bars and elegant cocktail venues with great food and even better wine and cocktails.
Enjoy a progressive dinner and a cocktail in each of 3-4 venues with a chance to learn a little about the city’s night culture from the creative characters who have shaped it. If you’re keen to push on and have a bit of a dance we’ll make sure to help you find the perfect vibe to match your mood, from smokey jazz bars to retro clubs and rock pubs.
DAY TWO
Start your Saturday with a bit of a lie-in if you’re feeling a little dusty or an easy walk around the ‘Tan. Sure, Melbourne can be a little chilly in the winter but it rarely rains and there’s often plenty of blue skies and sunshine.
We do food and fashion as good as any place so it makes sense to dedicate the best part of a day to the city’s strengths. Different neighbourhoods tend to cater to different styles but your local host cum personal shopper for the day will be sure to help you work out if you’re High St. Armadale ladies or your time is better spent in Fitzroy and Brunswick. The city’s backstreets hide plenty of local talent so you’ll get to discover a fair bit of Melbourne throughout the day.
We’ll be sure you don’t miss any fine pastries or wonderful coffee, a little cheese and a few market-fresh oysters… break for brunch in one of our favourite neighbourhood cafes or grab some Yum Cha if it’s more your pace. You’ll realize pretty quickly that Localing is not touring – we’re your cool, well-connected local friend in town and you have all the freedom and flexibility of going it alone just with none of the guesswork.
Catch an exhibition at the NGV in the late arvo. or spend a few hours drinking champagne and eating lobster rolls with the girls – you’re on holiday!
Tonight, it’s a timely reminder that restaurants are back baby! We’re loving wine bars at the moment like Embla, Bar Liberty or the Carlton Wine Room. The food and wine are wonderful and the vibes are bang on for a fun and relaxed night out with friends. Go for an early session and back it up with some theatre or pretend you’re in Europe and eat late. You make the rules.
DAY THREE
Sunday. Why does it have to end? We’d suggest delaying the inevitable and booking a late flight out. There’s always more to explore in Melbourne or maybe the girls would prefer to stretch their legs on a little adventure out to Mornington. The latter is one of our favourites just an hour from Melbourne on a stunning coast and blessed with insanely good farm to plate dining and hundreds of vineyards.
Do a short walk on a coastal trail, visit a few cellar doors, eat well, check out a local gallery or goat’s cheese dairy… The Peninsula Hot Springs are perfect for a little pampering and there’s even a native flower farm if you want to bring home something pretty. This is our home away from home so we’ll make sure you love it down here as much as we do.
Finish up at the airport for your flight home or back in the city if you’ve decided you’re never leaving. We get it, Melbourne’s a pretty special place.
