Manly Ride and Hike – Private Active Day Tour

Duration: 6 hours
No. of Guests: 1–10
Languages: Available in English, Spanish, French, German (others by request)

This active coastal experience is a refreshing way to see Sydney — a mix of ferry rides, forest trails, local eats and panoramic lookouts, all with the wind in your hair and the harbour at your side. You’ll pedal through beachside backstreets, cruise past native bush and dramatic cliffs, and soak up the wild beauty of the Northern Beaches. It’s fresh air, good views and a bit of easygoing effort in one of Sydney’s most scenic corners.

Suggested but highly flexible itinerary:

Meet your Localing host and make your way to the Circular Quay ferry terminal, with Sydney already showing off its harbourfront best. The fast ferry to Manly offers some of the city’s finest views — the Opera House, Harbour Bridge, and sleek waterfront homes all lining the way.

On arrival in Manly, it’s time to collect your e-bikes and get rolling. The scenery shifts quickly as you ride through leafy neighbourhoods and out towards North Head, where eucalypt forest meets sheer sandstone cliffs. It’s not uncommon to see water dragons sunning themselves along the path or black cockatoos overhead. The pace is easy, with plenty of stops to take in the views or learn a little something along the way.

There’s time to wander a short headland track and visit one of Sydney’s best natural lookout points. On a clear day, you can see the city skyline in one direction and the open ocean in the other — and in winter, you might just spot a whale breaching off the coast.

Lunch is at a local favourite in town, followed by a breezy coastal ride past Manly’s quieter beaches. If the mood strikes, there’s the option for a swim or a walk out to explore Aboriginal rock carvings tucked into the bushland at Grotto Point.

It’s an energising, scenic day out — a little wild, a little local, and a whole lot of fun.
