Suggested but highly flexible itinerary:

Your Localing host will meet you at 8:30am for a hotel pickup and a relaxed drive west out of the city. There’s time on the way to chat, swap stories and get a feel for what kind of pace the day should take.

If you’re up for it, your host can guide you on a bushwalk through native forest, past waterfalls, rock formations and peaceful lookouts that feel a world away from the city. Some walks can be a little strenuous, but there are also gentler tracks for a more laid-back stroll. If hiking’s not your thing, no worries. You’ll still enjoy a scenic route with plenty of chances to stretch your legs and soak up the landscape from panoramic vantage points.

Villages like Leura and Katoomba offer a slower rhythm and a chance to dip into local shops, cafés and galleries. There’s space in the day to linger over lunch, explore a heritage garden or stop for something sweet at a favourite local bakery.

By the time you return to Sydney, you’ll have fresh air in your lungs and a new appreciation for Australia’s rugged, beautiful backyard.
