Be picked up from your accommodation or be met at the airport to hit the ground running. Start your Shire tour with a freshly brewed coffee, and share a few tastes and interests with your host to make the experience personal.
Head towards the hinterland to see the Shire from the mountain tops, take in the spectacular views and get a broad impression of Australia’s favourite holiday destination and its diverse charms.Stop in at one or two local farms to sample some fresh, seasonal produce, usually involving plenty of tropical fruit, a few local treats and native flavours. The whole region is a magnet for weird and wonderful characters and you’ll have the chance to meet some of our favourites.
Head to the hipster villages of Bangalow and Newrybar to explore the local designer stores, cafes and bakeries. Your host will share a few stories and local history, share hidden treasures and favourite haunts. Journey through stunning, rolling countryside on the way to one or two hidden waterfalls, perfect for swimming and/or a few short hikes.
From here, venture into the bohemian village of Mullumbimby, where you’ll find that ‘Byron-hippy’ feeling of old. Enjoy a quick lunch at an excellent village cafe or slow down over a more refined farm-to-plate dining experience.
In the afternoon, it’s back to the coast towards Brunswick Heads and the surrounding townships to discover stunning secret beaches, rivers and lakes.
