Duration: 8 hours
No. of Guests: 1-7
Languages: Available in English, Spanish & French (others by request)

Adelaide’s ‘twenty-minute-city’ has so much on offer, so close at hand. With a vibrant city life bursting with culture, flavours and events, you’ll find yourself perusing local market sheds and historic buildings, lush parklands and sprawling botanic gardens. Wander the lanes, explore seaside villages, drive through rolling hills and native eucalyptus forests, sample stunning local wines and farm gate produce, cuddle a koala – all in a single, beautiful day.

Suggested but highly flexible itinerary:
Be met at your hotel (or Adelaide port) by your expert Localing host for a 10 am start.

Begin with an exceptional coffee at an off-beat local cafe, between organic veggie gardens and contemporary art. This is a great time to get to know your host and share a few tastes and interests to help make the experience personal.

Enjoy a tour of ‘town’, taking time to get orientated both geographically and historically. Wander the backstreets of central Adelaide and traipse the grand North Terrace with time to admire architecture, local sites and plenty of street-art.

Learn about local folklore get a taste for the distinctive east and west ends of town. Hear about the local saints and sinners, innovators and creators who have shaped this unique Australian city.

Take a short scenic drive up to the Adelaide Hills, one of Australia’s preeminent cool-climate wine regions. Wind your way down leafy lanes dappled in afternoon light, stopping at villages that date back to early settlement.

Settle in for lunch at a rustic café or opt for something more elegant among rolling hills and sprawling vineyards.

Go behind a few cellar doors to chat with winemakers and enjoy tutored wine tastings. The region is a-typical for South Australia with plenty of ‘New World’ irreverence and experimentation.

Before heading back to town, go behind the scenes at a native wildlife park. The option to have a ranger take you to meet, feed and pet kangaroos or koalas is a great upgrade for families. Alternatively, kick on with a tasting at a local brewery, gin distillery, dairy or another of the region’s exceptional wineries.

Your Localing host will have you back at your hotel by 6 pm.
